About Our Foundation

Mike's Kids Education Foundation, Inc., a  501 (c)(3) non-profit organization was founded in memory of B. Michael Caudill who was superintendent of Madison County Schools from July 2001 until his death in December 2007.  Mike believed in Madison County and every student the school system had in its care. He believed every student had the ability to succeed if they were given the right tools. Our foundation is dedicated to fulfilling the beliefs of Mike Caudill and ensuring that all students in the Madison County School district have the opportunity to succeed.  Each year, the Mike's Kids Education Foundation awards 17- $500 grants to individual teachers to bring innovative approaches of literacy to the classroom, as well as providing 2- $1000 scholars to graduating seniors at Madison Central and Madison Southern high schools. To date, the foundation has awarded approximately $25,000 in literacy grants and $8,000 in scholarships. In June of each year, the Mike's Kids Education Foundation hosts its annual golf scramble. The golf scramble is the major fundraiser for MKEF and enables the foundation to continue its support of the students of the Madison County school district. Our board of directors include: Lisa Caudill, Pam Hogge, Chris Young, Debbie Frazier, Greg Lakes, Sammy Lee, Stephanie Owens, Betsy Bohanon and Tommy Floyd.
